Late yesterday afternoon I went out to see if there were anymore eggs and as I was stepping out the door a mouse ran in front of me and out the door. I'm positive there has been mice in there before but we have never saw any or evidence of any. The coop is at the edge of a hay field with woods behind it so there would be no way to prevent them. Some people hate snakes or spiders, for me it's mice. We went into Menards today and picked up 2 of those metal live trap things, they can go into it but can't get out; we also got some poison. The directions on the traps say you can relocate the mice when you catch them; at our house that will never happen. The only relocation they will get will be a trip to a bucket of water. When we got back home Ron cleaned out the whole coop and put fresh straw in there and we sat up the 2 traps and I moved the decorative rocks by the coop and placed some poison under the coop. I just read someones blog the other day about how she had let the mice get out of control in her coop before she did something about them and I didn't want that to happen.

ReplyDeleteAll the canned chicken will come in handy. I think the canned tastes better than frozen. The seasoning that you cook the chicken with gets infused in the meat when you can it.
